The Raymond John Wean Foundation enhances community well-being and vitality in the Mahoning Valley through grantmaking, convening, advocating, and providing leadership with a focus on economically disadvantaged people and neighborhoods.
We welcome grant requests from eligible tax-exempt organizations under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and as public charities under section 509(a) of that code who are providing services benefiting the residents of Mahoning and Trumbull Counties in Ohio. Within its limited geographic scope, the Foundation currently has the following competitive grantmaking programs:
Early Care & Education, Invest in Quality Grants, Neighborhood Success Grants, Grants Program

Grantseeker Workshops
The next deadline for invited proposals is January 15, 2009. Grantseekers are asked to submit a Letter of Inquiry by the beginning of December for the January deadline.
There will be two sessions will will offer identical inforamtion; grantseekers are invited to attend whichever session is most convenient. The sessions are scheduled as follows:
- Friday, November 21, 2008, from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm at Community Solutions Association, 320 High Street, NE, Warren, OH 44481.
- Tuesday, November 25, 2008, from 10:00 am to 11:15 am at The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 305 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44503.
